I really need to stop forgetting this...

Okay. So once again I have skipped half a years blog entries. I would really like to keep up with this. I guess that just means that I am not a great blogger. Oh well. I am back for the time being

So. Since my last post, a lot has happened I guess. I ended up going to camp. However, I only lasted about 3 weeks total. (including lifeguard training). My body just couldn't handle it. I started to have Lupus flairs and it just wore me out. I couldn't take the heat, lack of sleep and being on my feet all day. I am very upset and disappointed in myself for giving that up. But I have to keep telling myself that it wasn't my fault. I just wish I could have taken in the whole experience. However, the time I did spend there was wonderful. I made friends and great memories.

Me with my cabin counselors. Love these girls.

I ended up coming home and getting a job at PetSmart in Lewisville just like I originally wanted. It is the best location I have worked at so far. Great co-workers and customers, and the store is easily maintained since it is brand new. However, I am getting to the point to where I am just plain tired of being there. My being on my feet so much and doing so much heavy lifting and straining my body is hard. So I am currently looking for a sit-down office type job. I have actually applied for around 17 jobs so far. In which I have received no calls whatsoever. So, all I can do is tough it out, keep applying, and pray for an opportunity to present itself. I have faith that one of these days, I will get a higher paying job that is also easier on me health wise. I am sure it'll happen. I will HATE leaving there because it really is a great work environment and my bosses treat me wonderfully. However, I really need to put my feelings aside and do what is best for me in the long run. That is most important.

David and I are in our very own apartment. We have been here about 3 months or so, and we are absolutely loving it. I am very much enjoying our lovely life together here. We also have a cat (Loki) whom we both adore and whom is spoiled beyond reasoning. He was my Graduation present from David just like he promised. I spent weeks searching for the perfect kitty and I found him online with Flower Mound Humane Society. I put in an application, met up with him and his foster mom, and we hit it off right away. He is absolutely perfect for us. We are a little family which I love. I wouldn't trade any of this for anything.

Loki on the first day we got him (about 4 months old here)

Recent picture of Loki (he is about 7 months now)

More pictures of him because he is so photogenic!

Thanksgiving was great. David and I both went to my grandparents in Louisiana. I have to admit I was nervous because so much drama has been going on in my family that I was worried things would be awkward. But they weren't, things went well and it was nice to see family and it was nice having David experience it as well.

I am extremely excited to began decorating for Christmas soon. I am wanting David and I to make a day of it, and make apple cider and cookies and listening to Christmas music while decorating. I am also looking forward to seeing how Loki takes to all this Christmas decor. This is my absolute favorite season! I always feel so happy and cheerful during this season.

Tomorrow is mine and Davids 2 years of being a couple, and it is very exciting. It is quite a milestone in our relationship seeing as we have now been together longer than with any of our ex's. I bought him a gift that expresses our love and I do hope he likes it. It will be coming in late since I just bought it online today, however it gives us something to look forward to this week. I believe we will be going our to dinner this week to celebrate.

True Love

Anyway. I guess that is the gist of all that has happened since May. For the most part life is great right now. And I believe it will only get better.

I'm hoping to keep this up a bit longer this time around. =]

My Graduation present from David!!

I totally forgot to mention what my graduation present is from David!! So, a few days ago, he gives me a graduation card, and as I read it, it begins to say something about getting a kitten for our new apartment in Aug!!! I WAS SOO EXCITED! So, we get to get a kitty for our very own when we move in! I already have a friend who has kittens that will need homes, and by that point, they will be 12 weeks, which will be perfect! =D They are black and white, black and tabby. We were thinking of getting 2 kitties and naming them Loki and Thor (from the marvel comic/new movie ((We had just seen the movie and thought of the names))). LOL Wouldn't that be so cool?

Oh, and this coming Saturday, we are getting together with my parents to celebrate my graduation. And I am quite certain that my present will be an Iphone from mom. lol She says I know what it will be, so therefore it must be an Iphone. I can't wait to get it! My phone SUCKS!

Also, Sunday morning, I will be leaving for Lifeguard Training for camp. I have to get up at about 5am and leave because it takes 5 1/2 hours to get there, and we need to be there by noon. I will only be there for 4 days, then I'll be back for a week, then I will be leaving again for the 2 months.

I gotta say there are some days when I feel sad about leaving for camp. And I actually regret applying. I kinda wish I didn't cause then me and David could be moving into our really nice apartment now, and I could just go work at PetSmart and all. But there are also days when I am excited to try something new. It will be a good experience and I am sure I won't regret it afterwards. I just REALLY hope those 2 months go by fast!!!

Packing Packing Packing.

The last few days, David and I have been packing all of our things. I sure have a LOT more crap than I thought I had. I am soo tired of packing. I am ready to be DONE! Tomorrow, David and I are getting a u-haul to bring all of our things to Don, Jon and Wes's house (which is where David will be living this summer while I am working at camp). All of our things will stay in boxes there until we move into our Apartment in August.

Here is a pic of what we have packed so far. Keep in mind that doesn't include our desks, bed, entertainment center, bookshelves and other miscellaneous items still in our bedroom, closet and bathroom.

I add a pic just cause posts are BORING without one! =]

Thursday, May 12th : David turned 24!

On Thursday, it was David's birthday! At 12:00am, I had balloons and decorations ready for him for when he got home from work to surprise him. I also had his cake baked, which was strawberry with vanilla icing.
The next morning, I left him some happy birthday notes before I left for school. He read them after he woke up. <3
That night, I surprised David by bringing him to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, which is a GREAT place that is TONS of fun! I think David had a great time. The friends who went were Ricky, Drew, Emiko, Oscar, George, Jon, Melissa, and my mom.
Here are some pictures to show how much fun it was!

On Friday, Phi Mu Alpha did a big pig roast in the backyard. It was a 116lb pig. It took 12 hrs to cook, and was super delicious! We had fun all day cooking and smelling the awesome pig smoke! lol. Here, pictures would explain better. =]

Tuesday, May 17th : Apartment search COMPLETE!

Today! David and I went to Lewisville today to search for an apartment for August. We left at 11:00am, and didn't finish till 8pm. We looked at about 9 apartment complexes. However, the last one we looked at, called Chapel Hill Apartments, was the one we picked. It was amazing! Not only was the apartment floor plans awesome, but the amenities are great!!! I have my hopes high for this place and I am hoping that this place is as good as it seems.

The one we picked is called Bryson, and it is a 1bed1bath w/ study. It is 877sqft and has patio and fireplace and full size washer/dryer connections. The bathroom seems really big and the overall layout seems great. (we didn't get to see this particular one, only the bigger one).
Here is a pic:

The community seems AWESOME! There are SO many Amenities!! Here is a list: 9 swimming pools!! Racquetball Court, Free extended cable!!, Tanning beds, Billiards/shuffle board, 2 Jacuzzis, Cyber café with 6 computers, 2 coffee bars, Outdoor fire place, Basketball Court, Clubhouse for parties, 2 big screen movie theaters! Tennis courts, Sand volleyball court, 2 FREE Car washes with vacuums, Flowing river, Playground, Fitness center (The Zone), Jogging trails, Storage units, Carports, Garages, TWO 1 Acre dog parks, Picnic grounds, 7 Hole putting green, Sports bar with Direct TV, Pond with BBQ pits, Dry sauna, Aerobic center, Massage room, Darts, Foosball, Frisbee golf, and daily curbside trash pick up!!

We signed the lease today! And move in on August 8. I sure hope that everything turns out great!!

Another great this is that the Lewisville PetSmart is RIGHT down the street, and I will be talking to the manager (which is Brad! A manager I had at the Irving PetSmart) about getting a job. (I will be also be subbing while finishing my teaching certificate)

Anyways...I am sooo excited! I still can't believe David and I are getting our own place. It is going to be awesome. It was a great feeling signing that lease next to him!!!

5 more days!

Well, 5 more days till I will be a college graduate!! Such a weird time it is.

I actually just took my 1st final, which was math. And I KNOW I failed it... I forgot my calculator and I really needed it. I am sooo worried about not passing math. I haven't done too well. It's 15% of the overall grade, so I am hoping that I did well enough on everything else to pass. I just need a D. Just a D. Then I will be able to graduate. At this point, I don't care about my GPA. I will still be able to graduate. I just want to get by. So I am meeting with my teacher to see if she can tell me what I have, and hopefully be able to graduate. I am quite stressed.

Took this pic the day I bought my cap and gown (May 5)

Other than that I have 1 final tomorrow, a project for a final due on Wednesday, and 1 final on Thursday. I just want to be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a huge pajama party at the house Sat night. For a friends birthday and someone I don't know's graduation party. It was fun, minus some stupid stuff. I dressed up from "Risky Business" scene.

David's shirt. I loved my socks!!! =D

David got an awesome job!

Today, David went in for an interview for Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas today to be a chef, and he got the job!!! The chef/manager REALLY liked David and told him how awesome he is and how he wishes they could hire more people like him. I am SO very proud of David, and this job is going to be wonderful for him because he is going to be able to work here as an intern, which will open up so many opportunities for him. I am so excited for him!! =D Go honey!!!

Petes Piano Bar

Last night I had a mother daughter day. We went to Ghengi's Grill (which was AMAZING and I really want to go again!) Then we went to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. That place rocks! It was my first time going and I loved it because the whole time is just tons of entertainment! Singing, clapping, dancing, and a lot of audience interaction. There were like 5 bachelorette parties going on. And the entertainers had them come up to the stage periodically to embarrass them and what not. That place would be soo much fun for a bachelorette party! I am thinking of going there for mine! Well...one day...if I get married.

I only took like...4 pictures. So, here they are

My outfit for the night! =]

B-day Surprise

David's birthday is May 12th! He will be 24.

And I just thought of what I am going to do for him for his birthday. =] I sure hope he likes it!

But I can't say anything on here...cause, even though I don't think he reads this, I don't wanna take any chances. ;) I can't wait!

Spring Events!

Okay so...yes, it has been a while since I last updated...and what is sooo sad about that is that so much fun stuff has happened since I last blogged!!

I think it is just that is has been SUCH a busy semester! It is my last semester, and I am graduating in 2 weeks!! =DDD I am SO excited for that, you have no idea! Plus, I really have spent most of my time doing homework, yes..I get on facebook and check it constantly, but I haven't put away time to just sit here and write. And I missed it so...here I am! =]

So, last time that I updated, I had just found out that I got the job at Sierra Vista! Which I leave for lifeguard training on May 18th, then I come back to Denton on the 22nd. Then I go back on May 31st and I stay there until July 31st. (CRAZY LONG!) I am realizing to closer it gets to that time, how much I am going to miss David. I mean, the longest we have been apart in the year and 5 months we have been dating was like 5 days! So 2 WHOLE months is going to be so hard! I pray that I will not get horrible homesickness and I am able to enjoy this amazing opportunity to be with those kids and have fun!

In March for Spring break, David FINALLY got to visit my grandparents at their house on the lake in Many, LA. I have been wanting us to go there for a weekend for a really long time. So, we went and ate awesome food, hot tubed, played ping pong, pool, and scrabble. It was a really nice weekend. And I am so happy we got to go!

OH and totally awesome toga party was on March 25th. =]

David and I in our Togas!

On April 2nd Davids family and I went on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean! It was the most amazing time ever! I am soo sad it is over! I really want to go back! David and I seemed to bond so wonderfully and I really got to know his family (whom are AMAZING people that I love to death!) It was a long cruise, and I enjoyed every minute of it, even though I caught the flu with 102 degree fever and congestion and headache and everything of the sort about half way through the cruise. However, that didn't stop me from having the best time I could! I Kayaked and Snorkeled and shopped with this thing! There was no way I was going to let it keep me down! If I sat here and wrote about everything that happened, it would take HOURS. So, I won't. Since this blog is mainly for me, and I am sure no one else REALLY reads through this, I actually hand wrote in a little journal about all that happened on the cruise. =] I'll put cruise pics at the bottom! =]

After the cruise, I felt really depressed. I am quite certain that that is a common habit of people just getting back to the real world from a wonderful vacation as that. I still sometimes feel sad, but I am getting better as time goes on. I think my sadness sometimes is mainly just stress from the expectations that are set on me because I am graduating and getting ready for the career part of my life. It is going to be so different not being in school. I mean, think about it! I am 23 and will have been in school practically my whole life (along with everyone else in the world). So, leaving the school life and going into the career life is going to be so different. And I am super scared. I am scared I won't make it. That career life is going to be horrible to me. I will admit though, I am soo happy David is in my life because him just being here to be my support that I can do this does help so much. I can't imagine how I would feel without him here to tell me I can do it. Whatever happens, happens. I am going to try my hardest to not be scared. And just do what I need to do. Time never stops, so the fact that every day is a new day will always be here. And I can't let anything that doesn't go completely as planned let me get me down. It will always work out.

So, 2 weeks till graduation. 1 month till I leave for the summer. 3 months till I get started career/job wise.
Speaking of career. Just an update. I am still doing Texas Teachers, but I won't be able to finish before fall starts. So what I am predicting is that I will be working back at PetSmart for a while as well as subbing (to get my foot in the door of principals, AND to get experience). Which doesn't bother me. I almost want to do it this way. I want to take things slow. I am afraid I will be too overwhelmed if I start out so soon at teaching. I need more time to gain experience and learn. I just can't go straight into it. But like I said. Whatever happens, happens.

David is going to graduate in the fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just HAD to say! We will get to start our dating lives out in the career world soon! That will be different. =]

OH. And David and I are going to get our own apartment on Aug. 1st. SO therefore, we have started looking and getting ideas of where we want to live. We are looking at 1 bedrooms, OR 1 bedrooms with a office. (which we REALLY need cause we have a LOT of stuff) I really want an office! So that's whats going on right now.

Well! That is it. Sooo much stuff is going on, and if you read this, please keep me and David in your prayers and that everything works out according to Gods plan. I just pray the stress stays to a minimum and that I can take on whatever obstacles come my way! This year is going to be so difficult and lots of new experiences are going to take place.

THANK YOU!
until next time

Here are a few out of 250 pictures that I took while on the cruise.

I GOT THE JOB!! =D

So, yesterday, I get an e-mail from the director of Sierra Vista telling me that she would like an interview! And since this camp is almost 6 hours away, we had a phone interview (which lasted an hour!) It was great! She made is less nerve racking and she was super wacky and fun. At the end she says she thinks I will be great and so she will be sending me my contract on Monday for me to fax back! I am SO excited!!

Being a camp counselor is going to be a LOT of hard work! I probably won't sleep much, and I will be teaching classes everyday, but they have a cool time-off system where I will be able to have every 3rd night (6pm-midnight) off, and the rest periods (every 3rd day after the night off) which is from noon-3pm. It is a really weird system, but it sounds like it works well. I won't be getting paid much, but it will be a great experience, and that is really what I need. I really can't wait till this summer!!! =D

In other news, David and I went to a Dallas Stars hockey game today! It is technically my second time going to one, but I don't count the first because it was with band, and we didn't really get to see the game till the very end. It was tons of fun! They won of course. =] 3-2. =]

CRAZY week

I have been soo busy the last few days, I haven't had time to update.

Well, Monday was great! David and I went to dinner (Outback Steakhouse) then bowling with my family. Mom and Dad are giving David and I $100 each for excursions on the cruise in April. Which is my b-day present. It is really nice of them. I honestly wish I would have gotten an iphone instead. Which I have been wanting for forever. I just mainly want a better phone and one with i-net. But oh well, it was nice of them.

Tuesday sucked. Which was my actual birthday. I had class from 12:30-5:00pm, and I was feeling so sick and emotional that day. It was dumb. The only thing cool that happened was David bringing me home a Tulip plant with 3 bulbs. It is really exciting. I love it!

Wednesday and Today was soo busy. I had to study for tests and had tests and such. It's been kinda stressful. I get to kinda relax this weekend, which is nice. But I still have a lot of Texas Teachers classes to finish online as soon as possible.

Right now, I am cleaning and listening to David learn to do his own taxes. His mom is helping him over the phone. I am soo hoping we get married so he will always take care of it. At least I hope we get married before I become independent. haha.

Now time for birthday pics!

My weekend. =]

Saturday:
Had my first face-to-face class with Texas Teachers and it was great. There is about 100-200 people in the sessions. It was held at a high school in Carrollton. It was a LONG day. I learned so many things about teaching, and good teachers and everything. It was a great first class. Also had fun with Rena. =]
Sunday:
Today, David and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for brunch, and to my surprise, Emiko, Nicole, Oscar, Mellisa and Jon where there! I had thought to would be just David and I, but he had been planning on this surprise for about 2 weeks. It was so sweet! Funny thing though, supposedly like 20 of my friends said they were going to go, however, only those 5 ended up going through with it. So it was kinda embarrassing sitting at a table for 20 when only 5 people showed up...but it was great. It was the perfect amount of people. I had the Jambalaya Pasta (Which was DELICIOUS!) And I had the red-velvet cheesecake. SO GOOD! Those two combinations go so great together.

Another thing that is cool is that as we were leaving, John Kitna of the Dallas Cowboys walked in, and David and Jon met him and shook his hands. They were so giddy. It was funny.

After that, David and I went to Grapevine Mills Mall. We walked around the whole place and looked in some stores. I bought some cute things from the Hello Kitty store.

When I got home, I took a really long nap, which was really great. Since then I have been relaxing. =]

Tomorrow, David and I are going bowling and dinner with my family to celebrate my birthday with them. Can't wait!

The 31 Day Challenge: Day 3

Well, I know I am late with these, but at least I do them right? haha. Besides day 3 doesn't necessarily mean the 3rd day, could just be the 3rd challenge...at least that's my reasoning.

Well, day 3 is to post a picture of my favorite tv show. Right now I have 2 but I gotta say that my most favorite is Greek. Which aires on ABC family. It is sooo good! Full of humor and drama. Love it! It's pretty much mainly about 3 Greek houses and their trials and tribulations on Romance, College and Greek life. If you haven't watched it, DO! You won't regret it. All the seasons are on hulu, and currently the last season is airing on Monday nights at 8pm on ABC family!

First Texas Teachers class tomorrow!

Today I got my hair cut. I think it looks great! I usually don't ever like it when it's cut. But this time!

My hair cut. =]
Tomorrow from 8:30am-4:00pm I have my first face-to-face class with Texas Teacher's Alternative Certification. Should be good...I am nervous though! BUT I just found out today that a friend of mine is also doing the program, which means we will be going to all the classes together! So we are going to try and carpool together. Even though we live in different cities. lol
We have to wear business casual, so I had to go clothes shopping, and mom spent $200 on them. I had to buy shoes, slacks and nice tops. We went to kohls. That store rocks!

My birthday is Tuesday. =] David and I are going to the cheesecake factory on Sunday, then on Monday Me, Emiko David and my family are going bowling and to dinner. Then Tuesday will be my actual birthday, and I will have to be in class from 12:30-5:00. Ugh. I don't have plans though. We shall see. Maybe Lous, or Riprocks for some drinks. =]

Well thats about all for now. Gotta go get a shower and get ready for bed!

Update on Camp Sierra Vista Job

Just wanted to update about my application process with Sierra Vista summer camp counselor job. I e-mailed the director asking if she received my application and 3 references, and also to ask if there was staff openings, and she e-mailed me back like in 10 minutes and told me that for now, she has to hold off on hiring because she has to wait to see how many past counselors want to work this summer because they get first dibs on jobs. HOWEVER, she said that since I have everything in so soon, that I get put to the top of the pile for hire if there is openings.

=]

So, I feel more and more like this might happen! It will be a GREAT experience if I get the job. I am sure I'll get homesick some, since I will be living 5 1/2 hours away the whole summer, but I think it will be a lot of fun. Plus I think this is going to help me feel closer to God. I will be away from all my pressures and burdens of home and I will be able to work with kids and be a role model for the kids and teach them of Gods love. It would be awesome.

Please keep praying about it for me!

31 Day Challenge: Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

This is a pic of me and my best friend Emiko!

We are definitely very close. She knows every single detail about me. Plus we have known each other about 10 years! She is amazing, and we are best friends for life!

Summer Job Searching

I e-mailed the person who takes the applications for the Switzerland program, and she unfortunately told me that they have already hired everyone for this summer. So, looks like I will have to wait till next year to apply.

So, therefore, I have decided to start finding a summer job. I really want to work with children, and I decided to start looking for a job at a summer camp as a counselor. So, I have been doing research and I have found about 3 or 4 places I would like to apply. So far I applied to the Vista camps (Rio Vista ((for boys)) and Sierra Vista ((for girls))). It seems like a really nice camp. It is also non-denominational, and they have Sunday services. It would be great for me as well. I really need some God interaction! So I am hoping to hear back from them. If I don't get the job there, I am going to apply for Camp Olympia, and Sky Ranch. At Sky Ranch, I want to apply to be Wrangler. Which is working with the campers with the horses. That would be a dream come true! Wish me luck! I would LOVE to work at a summer camp!

Valentines day is tomorrow! I love it. =] Mainly because I have a boyfriend whom I love with all my heart. If I didn't have a boyfriend, of course I wouldn't enjoy it...lol. David and I are going to make dinner at home and relax. Nothing to crazy. He has to go Serenade Sororities tomorrow night at 7. Which frankly makes me mad, because I want him to be home so we can do dinner and such. And I think I can be selfish, because it is Valentines day, and he is my boyfriend.

My birthday is a week from Tuesday! I'll be 23...I feel old. Slightly. It is exciting though. David and I are going to the Cheesecake Factory. I have never been there before, and it looks so good.

Updates always look better with photos

Summer Teaching is Switzerland

Yesterday, a friend from my Linguistic classes sent out a link to this website for teaching in Switzerland for the summer. It sounded really interesting so I looked into it. I am very very interesting in doing this. I would actually be able to be a camp counselor and I would be with the kids almost 24/7 from the end of June to the end of August. They pay for the airfare, room, board and laundry, and I would get a salary for working. It sounds like such an amazing opportunity. I would get experience teaching kids, and I would finally be able to travel outside the U.S. The summer program is at TASIS (The American School In Switzerland) It is near Lugano, Switzerland. Which is a beautiful place.

I will be sending them my application soon. Please pray about this for me! I really would love to do this. I sure hope I can get accepted into the program!!

Weekend at Emikos!

The other night David bought me a bouquet of flowers, ferrero rocher candy and a king cake! He is sooo freakin sweet. I love him so much!

Flowers and Candy!

King Cake! Sooo good!

So, because of all the snow, I wasn't able to spend the night at Emiko's on Friday night, but because of the nice warm (40 degrees) on Saturday, I was able to drive to Irving. So I spent the night with Emiko. We went grocery shopping for snacks and such. We made Suiza (sp?) which is an awesome chicken enchilada meal. And we made chips and queso. Then we watched Prince of Persia and put on fake nails. Then watched Howl's Moving Castle while we looked at each others Itunes and stole the music and ate oreos. lol. This morning we ate waffles, then fed the ducks at the park. Then we went and washed our cars (which was MUCH needed). Then we went to Target and I bought a new wallet. Then we went to the shoe store and I bought some Dr. Scholl's slippers. Buy 1 get 1 free at $10. Such a good price! Then I came back to Denton. It was a fun weekend! I didn't realize how much we did till I wrote all this. lol.

Now it's Super Bowl Sunday! We are having a big party here at the house. I have a migraine so I will probably be resting. I also have more homework I need to get done before tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is having a great Superbowl Sunday!
